Welcome to Odd One In. We specialise in creating unique cake toppers, home products, and bespoke designed items. Each piece is made to order in Marrickville, NSW using high-quality materials and fine craftsmanship.

By placing an order with us, you agree to the terms below. These terms work alongside our Return Policy and Privacy Policy, and do not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Orders and payment

  • Payment is required in full at the time of purchase, before we begin designing, making, or shipping your product.

  • We accept credit card payments via Stripe and Square, and payments via PayPal.

  • Each design will be made exactly as per the message you provide at checkout — please double-check spelling, capitalisation, and details before submitting your order.

  • Each product will be shipped to the address you provide. Please ensure your address is correct, as we cannot be liable for orders sent to incorrect addresses.

Order changes and cancellations

  • You may cancel or change your order within 2 business days of purchase, provided we haven't yet started making it.

  • After this window, because your item is custom made, change-of-mind cancellations are not available. See our Return Policy for full details.

  • Previews and mock-ups are offered after purchase. Please note this may extend your delivery timeline. Once you approve a proof, that becomes the final design.

  • We reserve the right to cancel an order prior to dispatch if we are unable to fulfil it (for example, if a material or finish has sold out). If this happens, we'll get in touch to offer a close alternative or a full refund.

Shipping

  • We dispatch orders every Wednesday via Australia Post.

  • Regular post typically takes 1–2 weeks; Express Post typically takes 2–3 business days.

  • Once your order has been dispatched, delivery is in the hands of Australia Post. We provide a tracking number so you can follow its progress.

Returns, refunds and replacements

Our full return policy is available here. In short:

  • We offer refunds or free replacements if your product arrives broken, is different from what was promised, or arrives after the stated due date — provided we are notified within 30 days of delivery.

  • Change-of-mind returns are not available for custom-made items once your design has been confirmed.

  • Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

The nature of handmade products

Our products are laser cut and hand finished. As a result:

  • There may be small burn marks from the laser cutter, minor surface marks, or slight colour variation between products.

  • Each piece is unique, and small variations from website photography are part of the craft.

These natural variations are not considered faults. However, this does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law if a product is genuinely faulty, not as described, or not of acceptable quality.

Product safety

Some of our products are made from acrylic (Perspex), which is a thermoplastic. Please take care:

  • Keep cake toppers and numbers well clear of candles, flames, and direct heat sources, as acrylic can melt, scorch, or catch fire.

  • Cake toppers are designed to be held by the stem for safe handling.

  • We are not responsible for damage caused by exposure to heat, flames, or misuse.
